Using the FigChain Web Application

This guide walks you through the main features of the FigChain web application, including authentication, environment and namespace management, schema operations, and configuration updates.

Account Creation

To get started with FigChain, create an account by visiting the FigChain web application. You will be presented with the sign in page. If you do not have an account, simply sign in using one of the supported social login options, and a new account will be created for you. Alternatively, you may sign in using your email address to create an account. You will receive a confirmation email to verify your address.

Signing In

Signin Screen

FigChain supports social signin with Google and GitHub for quick and secure access. You can also sign in using your email address.

First Time Signing In

Upon successful authentication, you will be redirected to the FigChain dashboard. If this was your first time signing in, a new workspace will be automatically created for you, and you will be its initial administrator.

Managing Environments

The Environments section within Settings is accessible only to users with the necessary permissions.

While environments are optional in FigChain, their use is highly recommended for effective configuration management. If you choose not to utilize environments, you may skip this section—however, a default environment named sandbox is always available for your use.

After signing in, consider setting up your environments to represent the various deployment stages of your applications, such as development, staging, and production. The sandbox environment is provided by default for testing and experimentation.
